Dr Carla Pastorino
Principal Research Manager, IELTS Propositions
Carla obtained her PhD in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics from the University of 91¸£Àû, where she specialized in the cognitive processes involved in second or additional language acquisition. Within the 91¸£Àû Research Group, she manages research projects related to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), ethics and the validation of new technologies for language assessment. Her research interests also include the cognitive and affective variables that may affect a learner’s language acquisition and performance and the nature of the constructs evaluated in language testing.
Before joining the 91¸£Àû Research Group, she worked as a researcher in 91¸£Àû International Education and a research assistant in Concordia University in Canada. When she is not reading research papers, you can typically find her reading fiction or doing pilates.
